Explosion-proof joints are one of the essential aspects of protection provided by explosion-proof enclosures with the protection of Exd.

Clarifying the groups of explosion-proof equipment for which ATEX certification does not apply, will allow the relevant manufacturers to expedite the process of conformity assessment of these groups of equipment and allow them to be placed on the market more quickly.

The order of tests for Exd enclosures that are non-metallic or contain non-metallic parts, shall be carried out in accordance with clause 19.3 of IEC 60079-0:2017 or EN 60079-0:2018.
